Whelp's Unfall 10.6.2007
Verfasst: 10.06.2007 19:24
I apologize for writing in English but my written German is very bad.
I am Whelp's wife and I am here to report on his wonderful biking accident he had today.
He has not had a bike accident in the 12 years he has ridden a motorcycle. This is his first.
According to the police he hit a wet spot on the street on a curve.
He has a broken leg and required surgery. He now has a lovely long metal pin in the bone of his leg. This will make his leg stronger for biking in the future I'm sure!
He is in the Erbach hospital (station 6) for the next 15 days, and an additional 2 months home on crutches. He won't have to go to work for those 2 months so I'm sure he will treat it as a vacation!
If you want to send cards or flowers I am sure it will be appreciated. Probably more for cards than for flowers. He's not that girly of a man. heh.
But please no telephone calls.
The bike looks like it can be repaired. We actually already have some of the pieces bought that we were going to modify.
The list so far I see is new seat, new tank, and new front which we already have part of bought. New lights, but we have those too bought already.
I figure he will be back to riding in September at the earliest.
Biking is an addiction!
If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me by my email katharinakatt@gmail.com or post here. Once again my written German is horrible so please be understanding.

PS: If someone would be kind enough to translate what I said into German I'm sure the other readers would be appreciative.

The tank has 2 dents, one on the right side and on on the top. I'm not sure how the top one happened.

Entire front plate on the right side smashed out.

Seat and exhaust ripped and dented.

Missing lights and seat ripped up.
