It's not a problem to find people speaking english over here. We have to learn it at school from 5th grade on. Of course not everybody is using it's skills daily but it's always nice to find someone to practice.
So feel free to post anything in english. And if you go on learning german just post parts in german - we will figure out what you're talking about

(Germans always use the socalled "Rolling R" ! Ask your wife !)

Don't trust cetus2000's pronounciation. It seem he comes from the southern part of Germany and belive it: they don't realy speak german down there (like they don't speak english in Texas like everybody at the world was proved by your unelected Mr. Bush)

Just found that one :

On a golf tour in Ireland, Tiger Woods drives his BMW into a petrol station in a remote part of the Irish countryside.
The pump attendant, obviously knows nothing about golf, greets him in a typical Irish manner completely unaware of who the golfing pro is.
"Top of the mornin' to yer, sir" says the attendant.
Tiger nods a quick "hello" and bends forward to pick up the nozzle.
As he does so, two tees fall out of his shirt pocket onto the ground.
"What are those?, asks the attendant.
"They're called tees" replies Tiger.
"Well, what on the God's earth are dey for?" inquires the Irishman.
"They're for resting my balls on when I'm driving", says Tiger.
"Sweet Jesus", says the Irishman, "BMW thinks of everything!"


btw: all Germans love their BMW (car and/or bike)

Ein älteres Schweizer Ehepaar kommt zwecks Urlaub am Londoner Flughafen an und nimmt sich ein Taxi zum Hotel. Die Fahrt dauert etwas länger und daher denkt sich der Taxifahrer, er muss jetzt etwas Konversation machen.

Er fragt also nach hinten: "Where are you from?"

Sagt der Mann: "We are from Switzerland."

Fragt sie: "Was hat er gesagt?" (Sie kann nämlich kein Wort Englisch!)

Er: "Er hat uns gefragt, wo wir herkommen und ich habe ihm gesagt dass wir aus der Schweiz sind."

Nach einer Zeit fragt der Fahrer: "And where do you live in Switzerland?"

Er: "We live in Basel."

Sie wieder: "Was hat er gesagt?"

Er (schon leicht gefrustet): "Er hat gefragt, wo wir in der Schweiz leben und ich sagte ihm in Basel."

Sagt der Fahrer: "Oh, my god, in Basel I had the worst (schlechtesten) fuck in my life!"

Sie: "Was hat er gesagt?"

Er: "Er kennt Dich!"

God i LOVE to speak english. Not because i got to practice it, but also because i just love the sound of it. I feel somehow "home" in this language. I want to get some exchange Semesters in America or Canada.

Anyways: good to have you here. And if you got some problems, relating german/english feel free to mail.

P.S.:I ever wondered what it was like in America to drive "just" 35 miles or so, dont know really about your speed limits...
